Tell CARB: It’s time to hold landfills accountable
CARB (the California Air Resources Board) is proposing updates to the Landfill Methane Regulation (LMR)—rules that are meant to reduce methane emissions from landfills across the state. While these amendments include some positive changes, they completely ignore the needs of communities living near landfills—the people most impacted by toxic emissions, odors, and unsafe air quality.
Thiscommunity and environmental justice sign-on letterurges CARB to include strongdata transparency and community right-to-know provisionsin the final regulation. Communities deserve access to real-time emissions data, alerts about exceedances, and monitoring at the fenceline—so residents can protect their families and hold operators accountable.
