Reimagining our waste management system from the ground up.
Whether we’re aware of it or not, we all interact with the waste industry nearly every day. The United States is home to about 2,600 municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills, with at least one in every single state. Piling trash in landfills is more than just wasteful; their emissions exacerbate climate change, pollute our air and water, and make people sick.
Like the pollution they generate, landfills may be out of sight — but for policymakers and activists seeking solutions to our biggest challenges, they can't be out of mind. Tackling landfill emissions is a highly achievable, high-impact climate and public health win that would benefit all of us for generations to come.
Full Circle Future partners with organizations, policymakers, coalitions, and communities to advance strategic and equitable solutions to our big waste problem. We’re building toward a future where everyone can breathe clean air and drink clean water, nobody goes hungry, and local economies reap the rewards of sustainable alternatives to landfilling.
-
Working with partners, we identify high-impact legislative or regulatory opportunities and cultivate the relationships and power needed to win.
-
Knowledge is power, and we believe in making that knowledge accessible to everyone. We build publicly available data tools and resources, and share our insights and learnings, spurring policy action and making it easier for everyone to get involved.
-
Transforming our waste system requires building power with communities most impacted, especially Black, brown, and other communities of color, immigrant, and low-income communities. We do this through organizing, coalition-building, and advocacy at the local, state, and national level.
-
We tell the story of landfill pollution — and of the brighter future we’re working toward — through impactful news stories, high-visibility digital campaigns, messaging resources, and more.
